THE REAL PROBLEM AT COLUMBINE

Everybody has heard about the school shootings.  There was one, then another,
followed by another.  Copycats.  This happens because of television milking the stories
as much as possible.  Making murderers famous.  Still you hear on television about
memorials and so called “preventions” about Columbine.  The only real reason anybody
is doing anything is to be recognized, not to help others.

The stories should not have gotten so much publicity.  I believe that there would
have been less incidents like Columbine if the kids weren’t 100% they would be on
television at least once and possibly even for months on end.  In order to prevent further
shootings, we need to do something to help, not to make us look better.

One of the first things used against us US citizens was more gun laws.  This is
unnecessary because the kids broke enough laws already.  If you were going to kill
someone and then kill yourself would you care about and Federal laws?  I don’t believe
you would.  Maybe a stricter dress code would make our schools safer?  I strongly
disagree.

If you have been paying any real attention to the shooting you would have noticed
that the shooters weren’t very popular.  In fact, they were considered ‘nerds’ by other
students.  The shooters were teased by jocks and others of higher popularity.  These kids
were simply teased to the point that they didn’t know what to do.  Add to that the fact
that they were on medication, you have a serious problem.

I’m not justifying any body, just stating the facts.  But I do believe that if
everybody was nicer the problem wouldn’t be there.  Basically what I’m saying is it isn’t
the guns or their pitiful attempts at explosives that is the problem.  I’m saying that this is
a tragedy caused by society.  The kids murdered not because of video games or music,
but from their medication and being teased far beyond what they could handle.
Everybody be nice to our fellow students no matter how they may dress or look.  I know
not everybody can be friends but I think nobody should be our enemy.
